Apple Books has unwrapped the most celebrated books and audiobooks of 2023, accompanied by the introduction of the Year in Review feature. This in-app experience promises to guide readers through a personalized journey, spotlighting the titles, authors, and genres that shaped their reading year.

Year in Review presents a detailed overview of users' reading escapades in 2023, offering insights such as total reading time, longest book or audiobook conquered, completed series, preferred author and genre, and the pièce de résistance – their highest-rated book. This information is elegantly displayed, ensuring a visually engaging experience that users can easily share.

To access Year in Review on Apple Books, enthusiasts can navigate to the Read Now tab on iPhone and iPad, nestled under Top Picks. The feature becomes accessible once readers mark at least three titles as finished. Adding books or audiobooks is a breeze – a simple tap and hold on any book allow users to mark it as finished. To tweak finished dates, a prolonged touch on the book in question followed by selecting Edit Finished Date does the trick. For titles enjoyed outside the digital realm, a quick search in Apple Books and the selection of Mark as Finished seamlessly incorporates them into the Year in Review.

Readers are further treated to the revelation of their personal reading type, determined by Year in Review's analysis of anonymized reader insights. The six distinct reader types include The Contemporary, The Completist, The Seeker, The Wanderer, The Deep Diver, and The Free Spirit – catering to various reading preferences.

As the literary curtain falls on 2023, Apple Books curates the Best of 2023 – a handpicked assortment of outstanding books and audiobooks spanning diverse genres. The lineup features chart-toppers, with celebrity memoirs like Prince Harry's "Spare" in January and Britney Spears's "The Woman in Me" narrated by Michelle Williams, claiming the spotlight in October. Spring and summer witnessed the enchanting allure of "Fourth Wing" by Rebecca Yarros, a must-read for aficionados of romance and fantasy.

Delving into the specifics, the Top Nonfiction Books of 2023 boast an impressive lineup, including captivating tales like "The Wager" by David Grann and "Outlive" by Peter Attia and Bill Gifford.
