In the latest iOS 17 update, Apple is taking Visual Look Up to new heights, making it easier for users to glean more information from the images they capture.

Introduced by Apple to identify objects and elements within photos, has received a significant boost in iOS 17. This update has now extended its capabilities to encompass various symbols frequently found on car dashboards.

Among the key improvements in Visual Look Up within iOS 17, Apple has introduced the following features:

1. Recipe Discovery: Users can now discover recipes for dishes similar to the one depicted in a photo. This addition expands the feature's functionality, making it a handy tool for culinary enthusiasts.
2. Instant Information Retrieval: When users select an item within a photo, the callout menu now provides an option to access detailed information about the subject, making research and exploration more seamless.
3. Visual Look Up in Videos: Apple has introduced a groundbreaking feature where users can pause a video on any frame and tap the info icon to access information about the subject in focus. This adds a new dimension to the capability of Visual Look Up.

However, one remarkable expansion that Apple doesn't prominently highlight is Visual Look Up's ability to decipher car symbols. In iOS 17, this feature extends to recognizing a broad spectrum of symbols found on a car's dashboard. This includes but is not limited to dashboard warning lights, climate control symbols, headlight options, defrosting controls, and more.

Accessing Visual Look Up is a straightforward process. Simply open the Photos app on your iPhone, select an image, and keep an eye on the bottom toolbar. If iOS 17 identifies symbols within the image, you will notice a special icon, resembling a steering wheel, displayed. If, for some reason, this symbol doesn't appear automatically, users can tap the "i" icon to initiate Visual Look Up and unlock a world of information.
