In the mobile gaming arena the debate over which smartphone reigns supreme in terms of performance has always been a hot topic. Recently, YouTuber Dame Tech set out to settle this debate by pitting two Android flagships, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro, against the top-end iPhone 15 Pro Max in Call of Duty Warzone Mobile.

The results of the benchmarking were nothing short of intriguing. While both Android devices showcased their capabilities, it was the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro that emerged as the frontrunner in terms of gaming performance. Surpassing even the formidable iPhone 15 Pro Max, the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro demonstrated impressive speed and efficiency, particularly excelling in the "high" visual quality settings of the game.

In the benchmarking tests, the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro achieved an average FPS of 81.3 in "high" graphics settings, outpacing the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which averaged 75.6 FPS in the same settings. This unexpected outcome raises questions about the conventional wisdom surrounding gaming performance on mobile devices.

Interestingly, despite packing an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra fell short of expectations, trailing both its competitors with an average FPS of 56.7 in the "high" graphics settings. This discrepancy suggests that raw processing power alone does not guarantee superior gaming performance.

One key factor contributing to the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro's success is its superior cooling setup. This allowed the device's CPU and Adreno GPU to operate at optimal levels, maximizing performance without compromising on stability. Even with its lower average FPS, the iPhone 15 Pro Max maintained comparable peak temperatures during the benchmark, highlighting the efficiency of its thermal management system.

Despite the impressive showing by the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro, it's essential to note the iPhone 15 Pro Max's unique advantage in Call of Duty Warzone Mobile. With the ability to run the game at "peak" visual settings, offering 1.7 times higher resolution than "high," Apple's flagship sets a benchmark that no other Android device can currently match.

All in all Dame Tech's benchmarking tests offer valuable insights into the gaming capabilities of leading smartphones. While the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro emerges as a formidable contender in mobile gaming performance, the iPhone 15 Pro Max maintains its edge with unique features and optimizations tailored for gaming enthusiasts. As mobile gaming continues to grow in popularity, the competition among smartphone manufacturers is sure to intensify, driving innovation and pushing the boundaries of gaming performance on handheld devices.
