The Ayaneo AM01 mini PC, previously available only through crowdfunding campaigns, is now officially on the market with a unique blend of retro charm and versatile hardware configurations. Customers can order directly from the manufacturer, with the option to choose from a range of processors, RAM capacities, and storage sizes. This compact system is designed for everyday tasks and media consumption, making it a great choice for those who need a small yet capable desktop solution.

A Retro-Inspired Design with Flexible Hardware

The AM01 features a compact design, measuring just 132 x 132 x 64.5 mm and weighing 486 grams, making it an ideal fit for limited spaces.

Despite its small size, the AM01 offers a variety of hardware configurations, giving buyers the flexibility to tailor their mini PC to their needs.

Buyers can select between two processors, the AMD Ryzen 5 3200U or the AMD Ryzen 7 5800U, providing different levels of performance. While the Ryzen 5 3200U is suitable for basic office tasks and light media consumption, the Ryzen 7 5800U offers greater processing power for more demanding applications. However, neither option is intended for intensive gaming.

Customizable Memory and Storage Options

The AM01 can be customized with 8, 16, or 32 GB of RAM and comes with storage options of 256, 512 GB, or 1 TB SSD. For those seeking a barebone option, the AM01 can be purchased without RAM or SSD, allowing users to add their own components. The system also includes a bracket for a 2.5-inch hard drive or SSD, providing additional storage flexibility.

The SSD uses the M.2 2280 format, supporting both PCIe 3.0 and SATA interfaces. This range of options allows users to select the appropriate hardware based on their performance needs and budget.

Connectivity and Ports

Despite its compact size, the AM01 offers a variety of connectivity options. The mini PC includes two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type A ports and one USB 2.0 port. Additionally, there is a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type C port, though it does not support video output. To connect external displays, users can utilize the HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4 ports.

For networking, the AM01 supports Gigabit Ethernet and WiFi 6, ensuring reliable and fast connections for online tasks. The system's flexibility and wide range of ports make it suitable for various use cases.

Pricing and Availability

The AM01 mini PC starts at an entry-level price of $199, with no additional shipping costs. However, buyers should be aware of potential import taxes when ordering from international locations. It's important to note that only a limited selection of model configurations is currently available.
