Nothing Phone (2a) speculation and rumors have been circulating at a rapid pace in the last period. However, amidst the flurry of leaked information, denials, and conflicting reports, separating fact from fiction has become increasingly challenging.

The latest twist in the saga of leaks and rumors surrounding the Nothing Phone (2a) revolves around its system-on-chip (SoC). Initially, rumors suggested that the smartphone would be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200. However, Carl Pei, CEO of Nothing, recently refuted these claims, leaving enthusiasts and analysts alike questioning the true identity of the device's SoC.

For those unfamiliar with the series of leaks preceding Carl Pei's denial, the Nothing Phone (2a) is positioned to fill the gap between its predecessors, the Phone (1) and Phone (2), both powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processors.

The Phone (1) featured the Snapdragon 778G+, while the Phone (2) boasted the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Given this context, the rumors linking the Nothing Phone (2a) to the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 seemed plausible.

However, with Carl Pei's dismissal of these rumors, speculation regarding the SoC of the Nothing Phone (2a) has returned to square one. Some voices on social media platforms suggest the possibility of the Dimensity 7200 Ultra, while others speculate on the likelihood of a "customized chipset". 

Despite the uncertainty surrounding the SoC, one thing is certain: the Nothing Phone (2a) is set to launch on March 5, offering enthusiasts and consumers alike the opportunity to finally unravel the mystery surrounding this eagerly awaited mid-range Android smartphone.
