Arion Kurtaj, an 18-year-old British teenager hailing from Oxford, has been sentenced to an indefinite hospital order for his involvement in a hacking spree that targeted the unreleased Grand Theft Auto 6 game. As a result, he now faces an indefinite hospital order, confining him until medical professionals deem him safe for release.

The court proceedings revealed alarming incidents of violence during Kurtaj's custody, with numerous reports citing injuries and property damage. His acute autism led doctors to declare him unfit to stand trial, prompting the jury to determine whether he committed the alleged acts, rather than focusing on criminal intent.

Even after having his laptop seized, he managed to execute his plan using unconventional devices—a hacked Amazon Firestick, a hotel television, and a mobile phone. Infiltrating the company's internal Slack messaging system, Kurtaj issued a bold ultimatum:

"If Rockstar does not contact me on Telegram within 24 hours, I will start releasing the source code."

This move showcased the brazen nature of his actions and the potential consequences for one of the gaming industry's most anticipated releases.

Another member of Lapsus$, a 17-year-old individual enjoying legal anonymity, was also convicted in the same trial. The charges against them included fraud, offenses under the Computer Misuse Act, and blackmail. This accomplice received a youth rehabilitation order at Guildford Crown Court in Surrey.

As the gaming community eagerly awaited the release of the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer, the news of Kurtaj's hacking activities added a layer of intrigue and concern.
