Sony has finally unveiled plans to release Ghost of Tsushima, one of its most celebrated PlayStation exclusives, for the PC platform. The announcement marks a significant shift in strategy for Sony, which has historically kept its most beloved titles within the confines of its console ecosystem.

Developed by Sucker Punch Productions and originally released for the PlayStation 4 in 2020, Ghost of Tsushima quickly garnered critical acclaim for its stunning visuals, engaging gameplay, and immersive open-world setting inspired by feudal Japan. Now, PC players will have the opportunity to experience this epic tale of samurai warfare and honor for themselves.

The PC port of Ghost of Tsushima is being handled by Nixxes Software, an in-house porting studio at Sony known for its expertise in bringing console titles to the PC platform. Julian Huijbregts, a representative of Nixxes, expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating:

"We are thrilled to bring Jin’s story to a new audience and to bring a Sucker Punch title to PC for the first time."

The Director's Cut edition of Ghost of Tsushima, which includes the original game along with all the additional content released since its launch, will be making its way to PC. This edition features the Iki Island expansion, introducing new locations, characters, and enemies for players to discover and conquer.

Additionally, players can delve into Legends, a cooperative multiplayer mode inspired by Japanese folklore, offering both story missions and wave-based survival challenges.

One of the standout features of the PC port is its support for ultrawide monitors and DualSense controllers, along with a range of graphical enhancements including Nvidia DLSS 3, AMD FSR 3, and Intel XeSS. This ensures that players can enjoy Ghost of Tsushima on PC with the highest fidelity and performance possible.

Sucker Punch CEO Brian Fleming expressed enthusiasm about the game's PC debut, stating:

"We’re proud to announce that our friends and partners over at Nixxes are bringing Ghost of Tsushima to PC! With them on board, we knew the results would be nothing short of amazing!"

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut is set to release on May 16, 2024, on both Steam and the Epic Games Store, with pre-orders available now. Priced at $59.99, this eagerly anticipated release promises to introduce a new audience to the rich world of Ghost of Tsushima and further solidify its status as a modern classic in gaming history.
