Google could introduce a new feature to the 4K Chromecast with Google TV. The innovative addition, as reported by Mishaal Rahman on X, brings incoming call notifications from select apps directly to your TV screen. This means that users immersed in binge-watching their favorite shows need not worry about missing important calls while their phones are on silent. However, it's worth noting that this feature is exclusive to users employing the Chromecast with Google TV dongle.

As of now, it remains uncertain whether the non-4K HD version of the streaming device will also receive this feature. Analysts speculate that if not immediately, it could eventually become available on the more budget-friendly dongle. Rahman first spotted this feature in June of last year, and it appears that users will have the ability to customize call notifications through the settings of supported apps.

One noteworthy detail is that call notifications will only be visible while users are on their personal profile on the Chromecast with Google TV. However, the flexibility to adjust this setting in other profiles allows users to receive notifications when those profiles are active, providing a tailored and versatile user experience.

It is crucial to clarify that this new feature exclusively sends call notifications to the TV screen, requiring users to answer calls on their phones. The television itself does not serve as a medium for answering calls. This strategic move by Google enhances the connectivity and convenience of users, ensuring they remain engaged with their entertainment while staying informed about incoming calls.
