Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from TF International Securities has unveiled Huawei's ambitious plan to launch the P70, P70 Pro, and P70 Pro Art flagships in the first half of 2024. Anticipating an unprecedented surge in demand, Kuo predicts that Huawei is poised to triple its sales compared to the previous P60 lineup.

With an estimated annual growth of around 230%, Huawei aims to deliver a staggering 15 million units of the P70 flagship series, a significant leap from the 4-5 million Huawei P60 devices. Even in the event of lower-than-expected post-launch demand, industry experts anticipate a minimum sale of 10-12 million units, highlighting Huawei's strong market presence. The surge in demand is expected to have a cascading effect on key suppliers, including high-end lens manufacturers Largan and Sunny Optical. These suppliers are projected to experience a substantial increase in shipments during the off-season as Huawei gears up to re-enter the global market with enhanced camera specifications.

The Huawei P70 is set to feature a 5P lens and a 1/3.6” telephoto sensor, while the P70 Pro duo will boast a 6P zoom lens equipped with a 1/2.5” sensor. Taking innovation a step further, the Art version is positioned at the pinnacle, incorporating a cutting-edge 1G6P lens (one glass and six plastic layers) and a 1”-type sensor for the ultra-wide-angle camera. This sophisticated design, albeit more expensive to manufacture, is expected to redefine industry standards.

Largan and Sunny Optical are poised to capitalize on this technological leap, particularly with the intricate manufacturing process of the molding glass for the Art version's lens. The industry is watching closely as Huawei's advancements in camera technology may set a precedent for other manufacturers to follow suit globally.

In addition to the camera enhancements, the P70 series will mark Huawei's return with a new set of Kirin chipsets featuring 5G connectivity. Addressing one of the primary setbacks in the past three years, Huawei aims to reclaim its position in the market with these cutting-edge technological upgrades. The global smartphone arena awaits the arrival of the Huawei P70 series, anticipating a shift in industry standards and a resurgence of Huawei's influence worldwide.
