Huawei has taken the wraps off its latest innovation, the MatePad Pro 11 2024, marking a significant evolution from its predecessor. Nearly eighteen months since the last refresh, Huawei has made notable enhancements to its 11-inch tablet, positioning it as a formidable contender in the tech arena.

Dubbed the MatePad Pro 11 2024, the tablet maintains a familiar aesthetic, reminiscent of its predecessor. The circular rear-facing camera housing and the punch-hole front-facing camera, nestled in the upper left-hand corner, contribute to its sleek design. Huawei has opted to utilize last year's camera sensors, featuring a 16 MP (f/2.2) front camera, accompanied by a 13 MP (f/1.8) primary and an 8 MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide-angle rear-facing camera. Video recording capabilities remain at 4K at 30 FPS, in line with its forerunner.

Despite the visual similarities, the MatePad Pro 11 2024 boasts a powerful 8,300 mAh battery supporting 66 W wired charging. The tablet maintains continuity with its predecessor in this aspect, ensuring users benefit from swift charging capabilities. The introduction of an OLED panel with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels in a 16:10 aspect ratio, coupled with 600 nits peak brightness and an impressive 120 Hz refresh rate, elevates the display quality to new heights.

Huawei has been tight-lipped about the chipset details, leaving enthusiasts to speculate about the possible presence of a Kirin 9000s, akin to the Mate X5 and Mate 60 series. The absence of information in this regard adds an element of intrigue to the tablet's overall performance.

The game-changer for the MatePad Pro 11 2024 lies in its incorporation of two-way satellite connectivity, achieved through the BeiDou satellite network. This groundbreaking feature distinguishes the tablet, offering users enhanced communication capabilities without cellular connectivity. Notably, Huawei has opted not to provide a 5G model at this time.

Launching in China at a razor-thin 5.9 mm thickness and a mere 449 g weight, the MatePad Pro 11 2024 is priced at CNY 4,299 (~US$604). This configuration includes HarmonyOS 4, 12 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of storage. Alternatively, the tablet is available with 512 GB of storage and the same RAM configuration for CNY 4,799 (~US$673). While global availability remains unconfirmed, Huawei's track record suggests the possibility of reaching markets beyond its home turf, echoing the trajectory of its predecessor. The MatePad Pro 11 2024 promises to redefine the tablet landscape with its sleek design, cutting-edge features, and unwavering commitment to user experience.
