Honor has announced the launch of its latest smartphone, the Honor Play 60 Plus, which targets users who seek an affordable device without compromising on essential features. This new addition complements Honor's range of powerful and well-equipped smartphones and aims to provide a balance between performance and cost.

Key Specifications and Features

According to IT Home, the Honor Play 60 Plus is set to debut in China today, June 24. It will be equipped with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, a mid-range System on Chip (SoC) designed to offer adequate performance for everyday tasks. 

While it may not cater to the needs of ambitious smartphone gamers, it should be sufficient for general use.

The device boasts an impressive 12 GB of RAM and offers two storage options: 256 GB and 512 GB. The 6.67-inch screen has a resolution of 1,610 x 720, indicating a compromise in display quality to maintain its mid-range positioning.

One of the standout features of the Honor Play 60 Plus is its substantial 6,000 mAh battery, ensuring extended usage without frequent recharging. The smartphone also includes IP64 certification for dust and water resistance, a fingerprint sensor for added security, and a headphone jack, catering to traditional audio users.

The main camera setup features a 50 MP sensor, promising decent photography capabilities for its price range.

Market Positioning and Availability

The Honor Play 60 Plus aims to attract budget-conscious consumers who still want a reliable smartphone with decent features. While the price has not been disclosed yet, the specifications suggest that it will be positioned competitively in the mid-range market.

Currently, there is no information on international availability or which specific models will be released globally. Prospective buyers outside China will have to wait for further announcements regarding the international launch.
