New Features in Ads Manager Include Image and Text Generation, Plus Meta Verified Expansion
Meta announced a suite of generative AI features for advertisers, designed to enhance ad creation and streamline the design process. These new tools are part of Meta's Advantage+ creative suite in Ads Manager, providing a unified platform for advertisers to access and utilize AI-driven resources.
AI-Powered Image Generation
Meta's first major announcement is the introduction of AI-driven image generation. This new feature allows advertisers to create variations of images inspired by existing ads, with added text overlay capabilities. The AI tool can generate new backgrounds around product images, providing flexibility in adapting visuals to different platforms. Moreover, advertisers can fine-tune their results with text prompts, guiding the AI to generate more tailored images.
Another notable functionality is the ability to expand images, allowing them to "better fit multiple surfaces." This ensures that ads maintain a consistent appearance across various formats and aspect ratios.
Text Generation with Meta Llama 3
The second key feature Meta unveiled is a generative AI-powered text generation tool. This tool helps advertisers create and suggest variations for ad headlines and primary text. Meta has built this feature with its next-generation large language model, Meta Llama 3, ensuring advanced capabilities and a deeper understanding of context.
Meta revealed that ongoing upgrades to this feature are already in testing, with upcoming enhancements including the ability to reflect a brand's voice and tone, and highlight key selling points based on prior campaigns and input text.
Additional Advantage+ Enhancements
Alongside the generative AI features, Meta announced several updates to its existing Advantage+ tools. Among them are optimizations for viewing in portrait aspect ratios, allowing advertisers to create ads specifically designed for mobile devices. The new features also enable the import and use of videos instead of just static images, providing more dynamic content options.
Advertisers can now upload a "hero" image or video to serve as the central visual element in catalog ads, ensuring a strong focal point to attract attention.
Expansion of Meta Verified for Businesses
Finally, Meta announced the expansion of Meta Verified for Businesses to eight new countries. Starting today, the service is available in Australia and New Zealand, with plans to roll out in Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Peru, France, and Italy in the near future. Additionally, Meta confirmed that the Verified for Businesses program will be coming to WhatsApp, although no specific timeline was given.
