In observance of Global Accessibility Awareness Day on May 16, Microsoft's Xbox division has announced significant strides in enhancing accessibility for disabled gamers. Through the introduction of innovative hardware and software updates, Microsoft reaffirms its commitment to inclusivity in gaming.

 The highlight of this announcement is the unveiling of the Proteus Controller, a revolutionary modular device developed in collaboration with Byowave and the Designed by Xbox Team. This cutting-edge controller features a unique 'snap and play' design, allowing gamers to easily connect various components.

It comes equipped with everything necessary to play favorite Xbox and PC games straight out of the box. Available for pre-order at a special VIP price of $255, the Proteus Controller is set to launch officially later this fall for $299, promising a transformative gaming experience for users with diverse needs.

  In addition to hardware innovations, Microsoft has also announced forthcoming software updates for its Xbox Adaptive Controller. These updates will expand compatibility with a wider range of accessories via the controller's USB port. Highlighting the industry-wide commitment to accessibility, Microsoft acknowledges certain games that have recently incorporated new accessibility features. Titles such as King's Candy Crush Saga and Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III are celebrated for their efforts to enhance accessibility for all players. Furthermore, Blizzard is set to unveil new accessibility features for Diablo IV on May 16, underscoring the ongoing momentum towards inclusivity in gaming.
