Microsoft has unveiled its latest Windows 10 KB5032278 update, bringing a significant addition to users' digital experiences. The November 2023 non-security preview update introduces the Copilot AI assistant to Windows 10, version 22H2.

Copilot, initially launched in September for Windows 11 22H2 devices, is now making its way to Windows 10 users. The update is currently available for systems running Windows 10 version 22H2, and is being gradually rolled out to global markets, starting with North America, parts of Asia, and South America.

Two weeks ago, Microsoft provided a sneak peek to Windows 10 Insiders with eligible non-managed systems running Windows 10 22H2 Home and Pro editions.

For users eager to experience Copilot, Microsoft advises navigating to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and enabling "Get the latest updates as soon as they're available". This will prompt users to check for updates.

However, Microsoft cautions that Copilot in Windows is incompatible with systems where the taskbar is vertically positioned on the right or left side of the screen. To access Copilot seamlessly, users are advised to ensure their taskbar is horizontally positioned at the top or bottom of the screen.

The KB5032278 update not only introduces Copilot but also addresses 13 bugs and includes various improvements. Some noteworthy highlights include:

  • New functionality affecting app defaults.
  • Windows Update opt-in notifications displayed upon sign-in.
  • Resolution of an issue causing IE mode to stop responding with multiple tabs open.
  • Cursor movement improvement in certain screen capture scenarios.
  • Correction of a problem where the touch keyboard may not appear during the out-of-box experience.

It's important to note that KB5032278 falls under the category of optional "C" updates. Unlike Patch Tuesday security updates, these updates don't include fixes for security vulnerabilities.

Users interested in installing the cumulative update preview can do so via Settings > Windows Update or by manually downloading the update from the Microsoft Update Catalog.

As Microsoft continues to enhance user experiences and address issues through these updates, Windows 10 users can anticipate further improvements and innovations in the coming months.
