OPPO has unveiled its latest Reno 12 series, boasting a blend of innovative design and powerful performance features. The new models are marketed as both slimmer and tougher than their predecessors, thanks to the inclusion of quad-curved AMOLED displays shielded by Gorilla Glass. These mid-range smartphones are set to redefine user expectations with their cutting-edge technology and competitive pricing.

The standout feature of the Reno 12 series is its quad-curved AMOLED display, a technology that offers a more immersive viewing experience by reducing bezel sizes and maintaining uniform borders. This display, featured on both the Reno 12 and the Reno 12 Pro, measures 6.7 inches and supports HDR+ content, delivering vibrant visuals with a maximum brightness of 1,200 nits. The central punch-hole houses a high-resolution 50MP selfie camera, ensuring that users can capture detailed self-portraits.

Another significant upgrade in the Reno 12 series is the inclusion of Gorilla Glass, providing enhanced durability. This is a premium feature often reserved for high-end devices, yet OPPO has integrated it into these mid-rangers. Additionally, the display offers a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring fluid interactions and a superior gaming experience.

Under the hood, the Reno 12 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset, paired with up to 16GB of RAM, ensuring top-notch performance for demanding applications and multitasking. The standard Reno 12 is equipped with the refreshed Dimensity 8250 processor, offering a balanced performance for everyday use. Both models feature a substantial 5,000mAh battery, supporting 80W wired charging, allowing for quick top-ups despite their slim profiles.

Camera capabilities are another highlight of the Reno 12 series. Both models come with a 50MP main camera, although the Pro variant benefits from the Sony IMX890 sensor, previously seen in OPPO's flagship Find X series.

The standard model uses the LYT600 sensor. Additionally, both devices include a 50MP telephoto lens and an 8MP wide-angle lens, providing versatile photography options.

The new Reno series also introduces a sleek, flat-edged design, measuring as thin as 7.25 millimeters. Despite this slender build, the smartphones are reinforced with IP65 splash protection, offering peace of mind against accidental spills and splashes. The chassis design combines aesthetic appeal with practical durability, making these devices both stylish and robust.

OPPO has integrated advanced AI features into the Reno 12 series, branding them as the first "AI Phones" in the lineup. These features include Best Take and Magic Eraser, which enhance photo editing capabilities, as well as live transcription and AI assistance for improved user interaction.

Connectivity is another strong suit, with both models supporting Bluetooth 5.4 and featuring infrared (IR) blasters. Despite their high-end specifications, the Reno 12 and 12 Pro are priced competitively at approximately $442 and $552 respectively in China.

This pricing strategy positions them as attractive options in the mid-range segment, combining affordability with premium features.
