Philips has introduced the Evnia 24M2N5500L, a 23.8-inch gaming monitor under its Evnia sub-brand, known for delivering high-performance features to gamers. With a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels, the new monitor offers a peak refresh rate of 180 Hz and various other features that make it appealing to gaming enthusiasts.

Notable Features and Specifications

The Evnia 24M2N5500L boasts an IPS panel capable of reaching a peak refresh rate of 180 Hz. However, the monitor delivers 144 Hz over HDMI, which is facilitated by its HDMI 2.0 ports.

Users can enjoy the full 180 Hz capability when connected through its DisplayPort 1.4 connection, making it ideal for competitive gaming scenarios.

In terms of response times, the monitor has a 1 ms Gray-to-Gray (GtG) response time, which can be reduced to 0.5 ms using the Motion Picture Response Time (MPRT) measurement standard. This ensures smooth and rapid transitions during high-intensity gaming sessions, reducing motion blur and ghosting.

Colour Accuracy and Coverage

The Evnia 24M2N5500L offers commendable colour accuracy, with a 93% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space and a 99.5% coverage of the sRGB colour space. Although the monitor's peak brightness is 250 nits, which might be on the lower side for some users, its overall colour performance and accuracy should satisfy most gaming needs.

Global Availability

Currently, the Evnia 24M2N5500L is available in China, retailing at approximately $150. Philips is expected to expand the availability of this model to global markets, as it has done with other Evnia-branded monitors. This new release complements Philips's existing lineup of gaming monitors under the Evnia brand, continuing the company's tradition of delivering specialized products for gaming while maintaining a separate branding for its office monitors.
