The Series Enrich Itself With New Synth Engines
Unveiling their latest innovation, Polyend presents the upgraded Play+ sequencer synth groovebox, a refined version of their renowned 16-track sample and synth-based groovebox. While maintaining the familiar external design, Play+ boasts an enhanced processor that facilitates stereo sample playback, multitimbral polyphonic synthesis, and more.
Incorporating New Synth Engines
Expanding its capabilities beyond sample and MIDI playback, the Play+ now showcases four integrated synthesizer engines. ACD and FAT present a duo of options recreating the nostalgic tones of early analogue synthesizers, with ACD focusing on single-oscillator mono synths. Additionally, VAP (Virtual Analog Polysynth) features a dual-oscillator architecture and a versatile modulation matrix, while WTFM introduces a distinctive two-operator FM instrument utilizing wavetable-based oscillators.
Polyend promises future updates to introduce more synthesizer models to the Play+ lineup.
Sampling & USB Audio Integration
The Play+ now supports stereo sample playback and includes fresh stereo sample packs augmenting the existing factory library. With integrated USB audio functionality, users can route up to 14 stereo tracks to and from a computer via USB, facilitating individual track export to a DAW and external processing of Play+ audio.
Despite the infusion of new features, Polyend emphasizes that the Play+ preserves the essence of its predecessor, striking a harmonious balance between advanced sequencing capabilities and user-friendly control. Per-step parameter sequencing, simultaneous access to MIDI tracks, samples, and the latest synth engines, coupled with an array of effects, play modes, and randomization options, remains integral. Additionally, the introduction of a new piano roll function simplifies melody creation.
