Samsung has confirmed that several innovative AI features previously exclusive to the S24 lineup will now be available on older phones and tablets, expanding the accessibility of cutting-edge technology to a wider audience.

samsung ai circle to searchA recent discovery by Redditor FragmentedChicken, shared via Mishaal Rahman, shed light on Samsung UK's confirmation of four notable Galaxy AI features set to arrive on devices like the Galaxy S23 series. Among these features are Circle to Search, Live Translate, Note Assist, and Photo Assist, each offering unique functionalities designed to enhance user experience and productivity.

Circle to Search introduces a seamless way to initiate Google searches by simply circling, scribbling, or selecting any item on the screen, streamlining the search process and providing instant access to relevant information.

Live Translate elevates communication capabilities by offering real-time translations during phone calls, breaking down language barriers and facilitating smoother interactions across diverse linguistic backgrounds.

Note Assist revolutionizes note-taking with AI-driven summaries and automatic formatting, empowering users to organize and synthesize information more efficiently.

Photo Assist introduces Generative Editing features to the Gallery app, unlocking new creative possibilities and enhancing the editing experience for users passionate about visual storytelling.

While Samsung's commitment to extending these features to older devices is commendable, it's worth noting that not all Galaxy AI functionalities available on the S24 series will be included in this expansion.

Notably absent from Samsung UK's list are features such as Generative Wallpapers, Interpreter, Chat Assist, and Transcript Assist, leaving users curious about their potential availability on older devices.

The timeline for the rollout of these AI features coincides with the anticipated release of the One UI 6.1 update, expected to debut in the first half of 2024. However, the absence of certain features from the confirmed list raises questions about their inclusion in future updates for older devices.
