Discover the Enhanced Camera Capabilities and More Now Available on Previous Galaxy Models
Samsung has recently unveiled its highly anticipated Galaxy S24 series, showcasing an array of innovative camera features powered by the latest One UI 6.1 update. While these enhancements are undeniably impressive, Samsung enthusiasts will be thrilled to learn that a host of One UI 6.1 features is also making its way to older Galaxy devices.
1. Enhanced Single Take Mode
The improved Single Take mode on the Galaxy S24 series now allows users to choose a zoom level (ultrawide, 1x, 3x, 5x, 10x) before capturing a shot. This notable upgrade, accompanied by pet recognition, promises an even more seamless and versatile photography experience. Surprisingly, this enhanced Single Take mode is not exclusive to the latest Galaxy flagship but extends its reach to various older models, including the Galaxy S23 range, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy S22 family, Galaxy Z Fold 4 and later, Galaxy Z Flip 4 and later, and Galaxy Tab S9 series.
2. Streamlined Long-Exposure Photography
Owners of previous Galaxy phones are in for a treat with the introduction of a new long-exposure feature. Integrated into the Gallery app’s edit suggestion functionality, this feature allows users to obtain a long-exposure version of an image captured with Motion Photo enabled. Offering a more user-friendly approach compared to Pro mode or dedicated long-exposure modes, this feature will be available on the Galaxy S22 series, the S23 range, Z Fold 4 and later, Z Flip 4 and later, Galaxy S23 FE, and Galaxy Tab S9 series.
3. AI-Powered Upscaling for Motion Photos
The Galaxy S24 series introduces the ability to select the desired frame of a Motion Photo and use AI upscaling to transform it into a stunning "12MP representative photo". While specific devices weren't outlined, it is anticipated that any phone or tablet running One UI 6.1 will benefit from this upscaling feature.
4. Colorizing Monochromatic Images
One UI 6.1 brings a practical colorization feature to Galaxy devices, allowing users to add "estimated" colors to grayscale or black-and-white images. This feature is confirmed for the Galaxy S24 series and other unspecified One UI 6.1 devices.
5. Seamlessly Editing Videos Across Devices
Samsung users can now initiate a video edit on one device running the Studio editing app and seamlessly continue the process on another device, such as a tablet or PC. This cross-device video editing feature is slated to arrive on the Galaxy S24 range and other devices running One UI 6.1.
6. Elevating Multimedia Experiences with HDR Video Support
Enhancing the multimedia experience, Samsung announces HDR video support for social apps. Videos shot with a social app camera or the Samsung camera app can now be viewed in HDR within social media apps. This capability is expected to roll out to the Galaxy S23 range, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Galaxy Z Fold 5.
These One UI 6.1 features demonstrate the brand's commitment to providing an enhanced and unified user experience across its Galaxy lineup.
