Redefining Portable Computing with Style and Function
In an exciting development from Chinese compact computer manufacturer SoonNooz, the company has introduced an intriguing model named Mini. This compact desktop PC not only exudes a captivating retro aesthetic but also boasts a distinctive feature – its front section can be detached to function as a standalone Bluetooth speaker.
Measuring at 250 x 250 x 68 mm (9.8 x 9.8 x 2.67 in) and weighing 1.5 kg (3.3 lb), the Soon Mini showcases its prowess with 11th-Gen Intel Core i7 processing capabilities and Iris Xe graphics in the current variant. However, Mini Machines hints at an upcoming batch equipped with Intel N100 or AMD Ryzen chips, complemented by DDR5 RAM and SSD storage.
Beyond its computing capabilities, the Mini surprises users with a built-in 6,000-mAh LiPo battery, offering up to 2 hours of mobile usage per charge. For added convenience, it features a pair of strap buttons, facilitating easy portability between productivity sessions.
Details on the detachable speaker's specifications remain scant, but Mini Machines speculates that the small battery within charges when connected to the main unit. The main body itself boasts a stylish volume control on top, while the speaker's face benefits from an independent touch control at the center of the raised grille.
Notable connectivity options include three USB-C ports, one powering the computer, HDMI, Type-A USB, and Ethernet LAN. The system embraces cable-free connectivity with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. Running on Windows 11, the Soon Mini is poised to offer a seamless user experience.
While the availability of the new batch remains undisclosed, reports suggest that the starting price in China will be ¥1,499 (~€193/$210).
