Samsung Introduces Odyssey G9, G8, and G6 Monitors with OLED Displays, VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400, and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro Support
Samsung has taken the tech world by storm with the unveiling of its latest innovation: the Odyssey OLED gaming monitors. Set to make their debut at the prestigious Las Vegas event, these monitors promise a revolutionary gaming experience with cutting-edge features.
In the official press release, Samsung disclosed key details about the much-anticipated lineup. The Odyssey OLED G9, Odyssey OLED G8, and Odyssey OLED G6 are the flag bearers of this new generation of gaming monitors, all featuring OLED displays. Notably, the monitors will be equipped with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400, ensuring vibrant colors, and will support AMD FreeSync Premium Pro for an immersive, low-latency gaming experience.
The Odyssey OLED G9, identified by the model G95SD, stands out as a curved 49-inch ultra-wide gaming monitor. Boasting a Dual Quad High Definition (DQHD) resolution of 5120x1440p and a 32:9 aspect ratio, this display promises a visual feast for gamers. The 240Hz refresh rate and an impressive 0.03ms response time further enhance the gaming performance.
Following suit is the Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SD model), marking Samsung's venture into the realm of 32-inch OLED gaming monitors. With a 4K resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio, and 450 nits of brightness, the G8 ensures crystal-clear visuals. Parallel to the G9, this monitor features a 240Hz refresh rate and a rapid 0.03ms response time. Users can leverage Samsung's cloud-based Gaming Hub and access the smart TV platform on the Odyssey G9 and G8 monitors, which also house the Samsung SmartThings Hub for seamless connectivity with other IoT devices.
Completing the lineup is the compact yet powerful 27-inch Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SD model). Featuring a QHD resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio, this flat-screen monitor boasts an impressive 360Hz refresh rate, setting a new standard for responsive gaming displays.
Adding versatility to the mix, all new Odyssey displays, including the G6, are equipped with two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4 input, and a USB hub. The Core Lighting+ feature, emitting ambient light from the back of the monitor, enhances the overall gaming ambiance.
