Vaonis has once again raised the bar with the introduction of the Vespera II smart telescope. A follow-up to its predecessor, the Vespera II boasts significant upgrades that promise to revolutionize the way enthusiasts and professionals alike connect with the cosmos. In a timely manner, Vaonis has unveiled this state-of-the-art telescope alongside competitors' latest offerings, showcasing the industry's rapid evolution in easy-to-use, automated telescopes.

Smart Telescope Evolution: Vespera II Unveiled

The Vespera II stands as a testament to the seamless integration of a camera and a telescope, compacted into an all-in-one, user-friendly portable device. Vaonis aims to democratize stargazing, allowing individuals of all experience levels to effortlessly connect with the stars. The Vespera II enables users to conduct live observations and capture breathtaking photos of the universe with ease.

One of the standout features of the Vespera II is its live stacking capability, facilitated by specially developed algorithms. This feature allows users to create mosaic images over an extended period, resulting in enhanced detail and reduced noise. The telescope also offers automatic pointing and tracking, smartphone and tablet control through a dedicated app, and an extensive object library featuring over 4,300 celestial bodies.

Advanced Features and Capabilities

Beyond the basics, the Vespera II presents a myriad of advanced features, including RAW image file capture, expert mode with astrophotography controls, and a longer 250mm focal length. The telescope also supports optional CLS and dual-band filters to combat light pollution and reveal hidden details in nebulae. For solar observations during the day, Vaonis provides a solar filter that seamlessly attaches to the Vespera II.

Vaonis introduces CovalENS, a panoramic image capture mode, on the Vespera II. This feature expands the field of view and resolution, delivering a stunning 24-megapixel image - a significant upgrade from the original Vespera's eight megapixels. The process is streamlined through Vaonis' Singularity app, making panoramic imaging accessible to all users.

Automated Excellence and Enhanced Image Quality

The Vespera II doesn't stop at automation with its CovalENS feature. The telescope includes automatic rejection of subpar images and automated stacking of high-quality ones, providing real-time enhancements to captured photos. Automatic focus during observations ensures optimal image sharpness. The Vespera II also boasts an increased internal storage capacity of 25GB, accommodating the demand for more high-quality images.

Technical Specifications and Availability

The Vespera II is equipped with a Sony IMX585 sensor, an 8.3-megapixel image sensor commonly found in astronomy equipment. Paired with a 250mm f/5 quadruplet apochromatic lens, the telescope promises extra-low dispersion, thanks to its lanthanum glass and a field corrector for consistent image quality across the frame.

Available for order at $1,590, the Vespera II is set to ship starting January 15. While the telescope does not include a tripod, Vaonis offers two tripod options for $100 and $149. Add-on filters, ranging from $149 to $399, provide additional customization options.

With the Vespera II, Vaonis continues to push the boundaries of smart telescope technology, offering a compelling solution for both beginners and seasoned astronomers. As celestial exploration becomes more accessible, the Vespera II stands at the forefront, inviting users to embark on a mesmerizing journey through the cosmos.
