Affordable Elegance with Extended Battery Life and BlueOS Innovation
Vivo has introduced the Watch 3, an economical smartwatch boasting multiple finishes. The Watch 3 not only serves as a platform for BlueOS, a novel operating system supporting third-party applications, but also boasts an impressive 16-day battery life on a single charge. Currently, Vivo has initiated the sale of the Watch 3 in China, with a starting price of CNY 1,099 ($151). Alternatively, an eSIM variant is available for CNY 1,299, equivalent to US $178 based on prevailing exchange rates.
Similar to the X100 series, Vivo has not yet unveiledĀ anything about the global release plans for the Watch 3. Despite this, the company has shared comprehensive hardware specifications and an array of promotional images for its latest smartwatch.
Comparisons with Google's Pixel Watch 2 are inevitable, as the Vivo Watch 3 bears a striking resemblance, albeit with a repositioned digital crown. The 46.1 x 46.1 mm case of Vivo's new offering accommodates a larger display than its Pixel Watch 2 counterpart. Notably, the Watch 3 features a 1.43-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels, supporting an always-on (AOD) functionality.
Incorporating BlueOS, Vivo's proprietary smartwatch operating system, the Watch 3 boasts over 100 sports modes and watch faces, along with first-party apps utilizing the smartwatch's NFC chip, SpO2 sensor, and GPS module. Additionally, BlueOS facilitates third-party app integration through a dedicated app store, although Vivo has yet to unveil comprehensive details about this feature. Despite an official estimate of up to 16 days of battery life, this duration drops to 3 days when the eSIM is continuously activated.
