Microsoft Promises Swift Fix
In the aftermath of the Windows 11 version 23H2 launch on October 31, 2023, a growing number of users who opted for installation via the multimedia creation tool have encountered a concerning bug hindering the functionality of the voice assistant.
Microsoft has officially acknowledged the issue, attributing the glitch to the use of physical media or disk images during the installation process. While the voice assistant remains intact in the installation media, the bug renders it inoperable during installation, posing a notable challenge for users who rely on this accessibility feature.
The tech giant clarified that this problem is exclusive to installations using physical media or ISOs and assured users that updating through Windows Update on devices with existing Windows 10 or 11 installations doesn't trigger the bug. Microsoft underscored that the voice assistant is affected only during the installation phase and should resume normal operation once the process is complete.
To ease the frustrations of affected users, Microsoft has announced that a fix is in the works and will be delivered promptly through a new installation file. This reassurance comes as a relief to those who rely on the voice assistant for various accessibility needs, emphasizing the company's commitment to addressing and resolving user-reported concerns in a timely manner.
