Deliver Studio-Quality Sound on a Budget
Yamaha's latest HS3 and HS4 monitor speakers promise exceptional audio in compact, budget-friendly packages. Renowned for the HS5 model's status as a top-tier budget studio monitor, the HS4 and HS3 face high expectations in the audio community.
In the realm of monitor specifications, smaller numbers denote more compact sizes, aligning with the downsizing trend of the HS4 and HS3 models. Yamaha achieves this by employing a single class-D amp for two speakers, not only minimizing size but also reducing weight and streamlining cable connections.
Connectivity options abound, with XLR/TRS phone, RCA, and stereo mini jacks accommodating various audio sources, from interfaces to instruments, laptops, and mobile devices. The user-friendly front panel hosts the power button, volume control, and headphone jack for convenient access.
While both the HS4 and HS3 share the 2-way bass-reflex powered speaker configuration, distinctions emerge in speaker size and frequency response. The HS4 boasts larger 4.5-inch cone woofers and 1-inch dome tweeters compared to the HS3's 3.5-inch/0.75-inch configuration. The power output remains consistent at 26W + 26W for both models. Bass performance benefits from Yamaha's 'Twisted Flare Port' technology, minimizing air turbulence, and users can fine-tune audio with Room Control and High Trim switches.
Available in black or white, the HS3 and HS4 cater to diverse aesthetic preferences while offering the classic NS10 look or a lighter finish. Priced around £229/$250 and $285/£329 respectively, these monitors strike a balance between affordability and professional-grade sound.
